Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who rely on a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification or their own display settings.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. WCAG is the international standard published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), and the basis of accessibility rules such as the European standard EN 301 549.

Conformance status

We believe this website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. “Partially conformant” means that most of the site meets the standard but some parts may not yet fully do so, and that an independent audit has not yet been completed.

What we have done

Pages use a clear heading structure and landmarks, can be used with a keyboard alone and show a visible focus indicator. Each page declares its language and reading direction, including right-to-left Arabic. Charts and maps come with text: a data table, a written list or a full description. Form fields are labelled, required fields are marked, and the site follows your device’s reduced-motion setting.

Display options

The accessibility button in the header lets you switch between dark and light themes, enlarge text, increase contrast, reduce motion, underline links, use a typeface designed for legibility and widen text spacing. Your choices are saved in this browser only and are not sent to us.

Compatibility and technology

The site is designed for current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on desktop and mobile, and for the screen readers and zoom tools built into Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. It relies on HTML, CSS, WAI-ARIA and SVG; pages are delivered as complete HTML, so their content remains available if JavaScript does not load.

How we test

We check every page with automated accessibility testing (axe-core) in both themes and in all six languages. We test keyboard use, enlarged text and screens down to 320 pixels wide by hand. This statement was last reviewed on 22 September 2026.

Known limitations

The site has not yet been audited by an independent accessibility specialist, and it has not been fully tested with every screen reader. Some of the external sources we link to are published by third parties and may not meet the same standard.
